What is Paddleboard Yoga?
Paddleboard Yoga is a combination of traditional yoga practice on a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) while floating on water. It challenges your balance and enhances the overall yoga experience by engaging your core.
Do I need prior paddleboarding experience?
No prior paddleboarding experience is required! Beginners are welcome, and the instructor will provide a brief introduction on how to paddle and balance on the board before starting the yoga class.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, moisture-wicking clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. A swimsuit or yoga gear is recommended. You may want to bring a change of clothes for afterward.
Do I need to bring my own paddleboard?
Blueline yoga classes provide paddleboards, paddles, and life jackets for participants. If you prefer to use your own paddleboard, check with the instructor ahead of time.
Will I fall into the water?
It’s possible, but falling into the water can be part of the fun! The instructor will guide you through poses that are suitable for all skill levels to minimize the chance of falling.
How long is a typical class?
Classes usually last between 60 to 90 minutes. This includes time for setting up, paddling to the yoga area, practicing yoga, and returning to the dock.
Is it suitable for all fitness levels?
Yes! Paddleboard Yoga can be adapted to all fitness levels. Modifications are provided for different poses, so you can participate whether you're a beginner or an experienced yogi.
Are there alligators in the water?
Where we practice paddleboard yoga is located in brackish water, which is not a suitable environment for alligators to live. Therefore, you will NOT encounter one on your paddle.
